Date: 10/4/25
Weather: Sunny very calm and about 80 degrees
What we caught: 20 trout, 4 redfish, 5 snook, and 1 big lemon shark
Description: We fished hard today, focused on completing a backcountry slam. The morning started along the shorelines where we landed several solid snook, the biggest measuring 26 inches — and lost an even larger one right beside the boat. From there, we moved out to open water to target trout and found a big school, catching around twenty before leaving them biting to chase the final piece of the slam. We wrapped up the day poling shallow flats, sight-fishing for redfish pushing wakes through skinny water. The lemon shark was the cherry on top — drag-screaming runs and a long, hard fight. To finish it all off, we took first place in the tournament!
Date: 8/28/25
Weather: Sunny very calm and about 85 degrees
What we caught: 8 trout, 2 redfish, and 5 snook
Description: We started the day targeting snook but lost quite a few early on — just some tough luck and a few moments of lost tension. It’s crucial to keep steady pressure on a snook, because once they jump, they’ll throw the hook every time. After that, we moved out to open water and caught a bunch of trout, mostly around 15 inches. The clients were eager to chase redfish in the skinny water, so we headed to one of my favorite spots where the tide and wind lined up perfectly — and the redfish were everywhere. We landed two right away and saw plenty more, but sometimes the fish win when the casts just don’t land where they need to. We even spotted some big tarpon cruising the flats with their backs out of the water. By the end of the day, the clients were all smiles.

Weather: Sunny and calm
What we caught: 15 trout, 1 redfish, 1tarpon, and 1 snook
Description: We fished the Friendly Flamingo Fishing Tournament today and started the morning strong with a 31.5-inch snook, followed shortly after by a small 22-inch tarpon. From there, we moved out to open water around 8 feet deep to target trout and caught plenty, though none quite big enough — they needed to be 15 inches to count, and our biggest measured 14.75". After that, we switched gears and went after big redfish, landing a solid 26.5-incher. Even though we didn’t place in the tournament because of the trout, we still had an awesome day on the water and finished with a super slam. This tournament is always competitive, but it was a great day all around!
Date: 7/11/25
Weather: Sunny and pretty windy
What we caught: 1 trout, 1 redfish, about 15 snook
Description: We started the morning looking for snook, and after about an hour and a few different spots, we found them. Once we did, the bite turned on — we caught plenty and eventually left them biting to chase a backcountry slam. On the way to a redfish spot, we stopped to try for trout and hooked one right away. After that, we moved onto the flats to target redfish and spotted a few really big ones cruising in the shallow water and ended up catching only 1. Sometimes the fish win.
Date: 6/21/25
Weather: Overcast slightly rainy day
What we caught: 1 Tarpon
Description: Today I fished solo during late tarpon season, scouting for new spots. I found quite a few tarpon in pods — very healthy fish — but when I threw a topwater, I spooked them. I think they didn’t like the noise and preferred something quieter. Sometimes you have to learn tough lessons, but it was a low-pressure day just fishing for fun. I managed to land one big fish and had a few bites. Solo scouting trips like this are how all my spots have been discovered, so days like these are necessary to keep learning about our unique fishery that changes every day.
